Arrived back safely.
Friday Night, Bennett Campground, launched rockets. There are no trees at Bennett but the weather was cool so we were comfortable.
Saturday morning, the boys hit the trail. The weather is cool in the morning. But the afternoon would turn brutally hot.
Boys arrive back from the trial. Turns out that the biggest threat on the trail is cow manure as can be witnessed by the N.D. tan line below.
The trail was hot and Magpie has trees so we stayed an additional night there. Still, the best place for shade is behind the van.
This is the road to Magpie.
We stopped near Spearfish Canyon. We bathed in the stream.
Our last stop was Custer State Park S.D. Here we trekked up Harney Peak.
We spent the night just off the trail.
The rest of the time we trekked around Sylvan Lake and the area.
Brownie really enjoyed himself and earned the title "Trail Dog"
